Losing weight can be such an uphill battle, and sometimes it seems like you will never reach your goals. The motivation and dedication is always there to begin with, but unfortunately it seems to wane after a little while. How can some people keep off the weight after meeting their weight loss goals? What do they know about weight loss that you don't?
The first step is to set your weight loss goals. Does going down a few sizes appeal to you? Is there a weight loss goal you are considering? Is getting fit and having more energy critical to you?
Record your weekly progress. Keep a journal to log your weekly weight loss, and compare how you do each week. Record what you eat in the same book. Hold yourself accountable, and write down each thing that you eat. Knowing that you have to write down bad choices will make you less likely to actually choose them.
When making decisions about what to eat, do not do it when you are starving. Therefore, you should plan ahead what you are going to eat. Have some healthy snacks with you at all times. Make brown bag lunches a new fad at work! Everyone will save money and eat healthier.
A successful weight loss program consists of proper eating habits along with regular exercise. Schedule fun work out activities a few times every week. If you are having trouble including exercise in your normal schedule, try to focus on having fun, rather than doing a workout. Find an activity that you enjoy and make time to do that. How about spending time with your male friends? Take them on in a game of basketball. Do you enjoy dancing the night away? Learn some new moves in a dance class. Do you escape life by going out into nature? Hit those hiking trails!
You can avoid eating junk by not keeping it around. When it is not there, it cannot be eaten. Rather, keep a large supply of healthy options on hand at all times. Green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, and granola are all healthy snacks. If you have certain foods that you always seem to overindulge in then you need to avoid buying those. If you do not have these in your home, you can not indulge in them.
Friends can support you in a variety of ways. Although they can't lose the weight for you, they can be invaluable in providing much-needed motivation to keep you going forward. If you're held responsible by someone, it helps you to not give up when you're feeling like you can't go on. Call your friends any time you are in need of a little help. They will help you stay motivated and keep striving for your goals.
