Losing weight definitely can feel impossible at times. After a few weeks of dieting, your motivation may fade and it can be tempting to quit. Some people are successful at weight loss. How do they take it off and not gain it back? What do they know about weight loss that you don't?
To get started, you need to visualize your weight loss goals. Would you enjoy feeling great in your clothes again or, better yet, shopping for new clothes that are several sizes smaller then your current size? Is there a certain amount of weight that you want to lose? Is being healthy, strong, energized and confident essential to you?
Keep a weekly log based on your weight loss. Write down everything you eat to keep track of your food intake every day, even if it is a little bite. Recording these items will hold you accountable for your dietary actions. Writing inspires you to continue making healthy choices when it comes to the foods and drinks you consume.
Hunger impacts your self control, so remember to always have healthy snacks along to nibble on when hunger strikes during the day. If you do not have anything healthy on hand to satisfy your hunger, you may find yourself eating fast food. Instead, know exactly what you plan to eat and have it on hand. You'll easily resist temptation and save money too!
A truly great weight loss plan will focus on both diet and exercise. You have to take the time for physical activities that you actually want to do. If you keep neglecting exercise because it is boring, then use the activities you enjoy to get some exercise. How about spending time with your male friends? Play some basketball with them! Do you enjoy dancing the night away? Hit a Jazzercise class! Are you more comfortable with nature? Hit those hiking trails!
Eliminate unhealthy food options from all places that you spend time at. It may be painful to hear, but if the junk food isn't available, then you can't consume it. Make the places where you typically spend time healthy food zones. Have fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts handy for when you feel like snacking.
Talk to your friends, and envelop yourself with their support. These situations prove why it's important to have good friends by your side. If you decide to surround yourself with people that are positive and support you in your efforts, you then have a better chance of success in reaching your goals. They can give you the emotional support you need to stay focused. If you feel down or unmotivated, reach out to your friends for support.
