Often, when people start their new weight loss program, they have a lot of drive to stick with it. Sometimes the long term goal just seems too elusive, and the tendency is to give up too soon. Consider keeping a weight loss journal. You can easily write down what you eat daily. After taking notes on all of the foods that you have consumed, you will be able to see what type of progress you have made and change things if needed.
Never allow yourself to become too hungry. This is a recipe for poor food choices. Avoid making poor food choices by always have a collection of healthful snacks packed and ready whenever you are out. Packing lunches to eat while at the office or at school makes far more sense than dining out. Making your own lunch keeps you in charge of your caloric intake and will stop the temptation to eat out in its tracks. In addition, bringing your own lunch usually saves you more money than eating out at a restaurant; therefore, you will be saving money and dropping weight.
Eating right and keeping up to your regular exercise regimen is the best way to lose weight. Try to exercise 3 or 4 times a week, but be sure to allow a few days a week for your body to rest. Make exercise fun if you are bored with it. For instance, if dancing is your thing, how about signing up for a dance class?
Clean out all the spaces in which you keep junk food. This can be at home, the office, or even your car. If you do not have the junk food around, you will not be able to easily indulge in it. Surround yourself with healthy food and snacks anyplace you eat on a regular basis. It is good to keep healthy foods like fresh fruit, bite-size vegetables, and a package of your favorite seeds or nuts on hand for when you need to snack.
Get a friend to workout with. We can often make excuses if we only answer to ourselves and ignore our responsibility to stay healthy. If you have a partner, you will be more motivated to complete your workout, even if you are starting to tire. A friend can provide motivational support, suggestions or tips to help you lose weight.
