There are times when you may feel as if your plan to lose weight is impossible to achieve. You may lose weight rapidly at first, and then stagnate for a time. You may start to ask yourself why certain people can manage this when you can't. How on earth do they manage it?
The first priority is to decide what you want to accomplish. Is fitting into your clothing or dropping some sizes something you would like to do? Do you want to shed some pounds? What are your other goals? Is it important to you to be in shape and have extra energy?
Keeping a log of your weight loss progress is a really great idea. Keeping notes helps you remember what your goals are. Checking your weight on a weekly basis will help you keep track of your weight loss. Think about writing down exactly what you eat on a daily basis. If you record what you eat by writing it down, you can start to track the effects your diet has on your body during your weight loss program. Go through these records for motivation.
Letting yourself get to the point where you are unbearably hungry is a bad thing! Once hunger has taken control of your consciousness it is difficult to resist the urge to eat any food in the immediate vicinity, and this food may not be the healthy choice you require. Decide what you are going to eat in advance and keep snacks with you at all times. Bring your lunch with you whenever you get the chance. This is as good for your budget as it is for your diet.
Every weight loss plan must include both a healthy diet and an effective exercise program. For steady weight loss, try a combination of diet and exercise. You can also have fun by doing activities that involve exercise. If you find it difficult to motivate yourself to exercise, get a buddy to take a walk with you. Have your family join you for some exercise. You won't even be aware that you are getting exercise!
In order to avoid eating junk food, you should get it out of your house. It is impossible to eat junk food if you don't keep it in your home. You should have your home filled with healthy food instead. Keep healthy snacks on hand - fresh fruit, crunchy celery or carrot sticks, anything that appeals to you and is good for your health. If you have certain foods that you always seem to overindulge in then you need to avoid buying those. The harder it is for you to eat these foods, the better it is for your weight loss plan.
Get a friend to workout with. Holding yourself accountable for your workout can be difficult, just as it is easy to find reasons not to workout. If someone else is exercising alongside you, you'll be less likely to take a break when the workout starts to wear you down. A friend can provide motivational support, suggestions or tips to help you lose weight.
