It can seem like it takes forever to get the weight off. We start with plenty of excitement and dedication, but as the days pass, we start to feel tired, become unmotivated and stop. Why do some people have an easier time of it than others? Some people can maintain a lean physique and lose weight at the same time. If you are like most people, you have to ask, how do they achieve this?
The first step in weight loss is to set out clear aims. Have you calculated how much weight you want to lose? What is your overall goal for weight loss? Is there a certain clothing size you want to wear, or do you want your current wardrobe to fit you comfortably once again? Is your goal to be in better shape or gain energy?
Consider keeping a written record of your weight loss efforts. This can be as simple as jotting down a quick note about what you eat each day. When you have sufficient documentation, look at your consumption and your weight loss and make any necessary adjustments.
Allowing yourself to go hungry is a recipe for weight loss sabotage! Once you are hungry, you are at a disadvantage and it is harder to make good food choices. Schedule your meals and menus in advance, and have snacks on hand to eat when you're hungry. Try and bring a lunch from home when you can. This can help you save your waistline and your money.
A weight loss plan that incorporates both diet and exercise is best. Is important to make sure you enjoy the workouts that you are doing a couple of times a week. Choosing a workout that you genuinely enjoy can make your exercise time a priority in your schedule instead of something you forget about. How about spending time with your male friends? Then you could play a game of basketball with them, or some other sport you like. Do you enjoy just forgetting about your worries and enjoying yourself? Sign up for some type of dancing lessons. Do you escape life by going out into nature? Put on your hiking boots and enjoy nature while walking toward fitness.
If you want to avoid eating junk food, just don't have any at home. When it is not there, it cannot be eaten. Rather, keep a large supply of healthy options on hand at all times. Eating healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, and granola can be a great way to help you stay on track between meals. Do not buy any junk food that you might overindulge in. If you do not have these in your home, you can not indulge in them.
Bring a friend when you workout. If you only have yourself to answer to, you will find it easy to make excuses. You will be able to motivate each other. You and your friend can encourage one other as well as give advice when asked.
