It can be very hard to stay on your weight loss path. Even though your weight loss goals started easily, you will likely notice your motivation decline as time goes on. What's a way that you can figure out how to have the same drive as everyone else around you? What are they doing to stay on top of things?
Figuring out your weight loss goals and setting a number for how much weight you want to lose comes first. Do you just want to shave off those few extra pounds you gained over the holidays, or do you want to fit into clothing that is a size or two smaller than what you currently wear? You should figure out exactly why you want to lose weight. Figure out if you want to lose the weight in order to have more energy or to lose a dress size.
Keep track of your weight loss weekly. Write your weekly weight down in a journal. In another section of the same book, keep a journal of the food that you are eating. Keep a daily record of what you are eating, so you can see exactly what is going into your body. The fact that you are writing it down will decrease the likelihood that you will desire it.
The wrong time to decide what you are going to eat is when you have not eaten for a while and you are hungry. Planning your meals in advance and keeping healthy snacks on hand will help you avoid reaching for unhealthy foods. Eat your own home-cooked meals instead of going out; it will save you money and help prevent you from straying from your diet.
A successful weight loss program consists of proper eating habits along with regular exercise. You have to take the time for physical activities that you actually want to do. Choosing a workout that you genuinely enjoy can make your exercise time a priority in your schedule instead of something you forget about. Maybe you like chilling with your friends. Go with them on a bike riding adventure. Are you a wild one? Try taking salsa lessons! Are you more comfortable with nature? Put on your hiking boots and enjoy nature while walking toward fitness.
Eliminate unhealthy food options from all places that you spend time at. If you do not have the junk food around, you will not be able to easily indulge in it. Make healthy choices wherever you are eating, be it your home, office, or elsewhere. Store a bunch of healthy snacks around, such as trail mix, nuts, fruits and vegetables, for those times when you must eat something quickly.
Have your friends help you achieve your goals for weight loss. Weight loss is ultimately up to you, but it is very helpful to have support from friends and family to help keep you motivated. By calling you friends, you will have that extra motivation you need when you feel like giving up.
