At times, it is hard to stay motivated. Like many, you may have had a lot of motivation right at the beginning, but found your determination flagging after a bit. This is the time frame that separates the men from the boys (so to speak). How can you gain inspiration from more motivated people around you? How do they lose weight and keep it off?
The first thing you need to do when thinking about weight loss is figure out what your goals are. Do you have an idea of how much weight you would like to lose? What about clothes? Would you like to go down a size or two, or maybe fit into your current wardrobe better? Ask yourself whether you want some extra energy, or just to feel like you are in better shape.
It's important to keep track of your progress every week. You should only weigh yourself once a week and keep track of your weigh-ins. Keep a food log in the journal of everything you consume each day. Writing down what you are eating will make you more conscious of what you eat.
Do not let yourself get too hungry, or you may find yourself choosing unhealthy food. To avoid this problem, make sure you bring healthy and satisfying food with you wherever you may go, just in case. Packing your own lunch for work or school is preferred to ordering food from a restaurant or getting fast food. When you bring your lunch, you have complete control over your calorie consumption. Additionally, you will avoid the temptations you might face in a restaurant. When you pack snacks or lunch, you protect both your wallet and your waistline.
Successful weight loss includes not only a healthy diet, but also a good workout routine. Find a workout you find enjoyable, and perform your workout at 3-4 days each week. If you are having difficulty exercising consistently, consider what it is that you like to do, and turn that into a workout. Take a stroll whenever you get together with your friends. If you enjoy dance, why not enroll in one of the many dance classes available? If you prefer to go on hikes, check out trails you haven't been to before as a change of pace.
You should get rid of junk food in any place you spend time. The simple fact is you cannot eat something that is not there. Make wherever you eat, whether it be at home or you office, a place where you make good food decisions. Stock snacks like seeds, fruits and vegetables so that you can satisfy those unexpected munchies with healthy treats.
Get a friend to workout with. Holding yourself accountable for your workout can be difficult, just as it is easy to find reasons not to workout. If you have a partner, you will be more motivated to complete your workout, even if you are starting to tire. You will also have someone to keep you motivated and give you advice about losing weight.
