It's difficult to stay focused on the reasons you're working to lose weight. It may have started out easily, but over time, you may have lost interest or feel you failed at one point or another. What's a way that you can figure out how to have the same drive as everyone else around you? How are they achieving these great results and maintaining their fitness?
What you want to do in the beginning is decide your specific weight loss target. Is it your desire to wear clothes in a specific size? Is there a specific weight you are trying to obtain? Do you want to feel better?
Keep a weekly log based on your weight loss. Write down everything that you eat, even small things. When you write down what you have eaten, you will feel that you are holding yourself accountable for it. Having to write it down might also motivate you to make healthier choices initially, so you don't have to write down those fatty snacks.
When you are deciding what to eat, do not wait until you are famished. When hunger strikes, it's easy to fudge our best attempts at healthy eating. To avoid making poor choices in foods, prepare meals in advance, and keep healthy snacks around. Don't hit the fast food joints every day. Pack your lunch instead. Not only will this help you slim down, it will also save you some cash.
You need exercise and healthy eating habits in order to lose weight. Find a few workout routines that you enjoy, and and do them three to four times a week. Try doing things that you like to do when exercising becomes tiring. When getting together with your friends, you can all take a walk. If you have an interest in dancing, take a dance class. If you like hiking, you can go explore several trails near you.
Very few people follow through, even though they know about it. Simply throw all of your junk food and unhealthy snacks away. When tempting foods are not readily available, it will be easier to resist any cravings you may have. Instead, make sure you have a lot of healthy options in your pantry, such as fruit, vegetables and nuts. If you keep the bad choices out of sight, you will be more likely to make good choices.
Ask your friends to become your support system as you try to lose weight. They can't lose the weight for you, but they can help you stay motivated. Being responsible for regularly reporting your progress to someone can prevent you from giving up. If you find yourself needing encouragement, don't be afraid to reach out to your friends. Just hearing their voice should be a reminder of how important it is for you to succeed!
