Losing weight and keeping it off can seem like an unattainable goal. Good intentions aren't always enough to overcome the frustration of those sore muscles from your first workouts. What are the obstacles preventing you from losing weight?
First of all, you should set goals for your weight loss. What do you want out of your weight loss plan? Would you be happier if you were able to wear smaller clothes? Are you shooting for a specific weight? Or, is the reason you want to lose weight simply to have a healthier body?
Chart your weight loss. Make sure you check your weight only once a week. Weighing yourself more often than that can cause stress. Write down everything you eat and the number of calories each food item or drink contains. It is imperative to not leave out drinks and snacks! Jotting down everything we eat and drink can prevent us from making bad choices.
Hunger can affect the way you think, and turn you into a monster! Always keep healthy snacks with you to avoid feeling overly hungry. Otherwise, you may be tempted by fast food or junk food. Planning your meals ahead of time and packing your lunch can also help you save money.
The key to losing weight has never been a secret. It may be easier said than done, but all you need to do is eat healthy and begin a fitness plan and the pounds will start coming off. It is important that you exercise three times a week or more. If this has been where you have failed in the past, plan instead to incorporate exercise into things you already enjoy. Meeting up with friends for a walk is a great way to socialize and get in some exercise. Consider taking a hike if you love being outside. Sign up for a class and learn a new high-energy style if you enjoy dancing.
If you want to quit eating junk food constantly, then don't allow it in your surroundings. You can either hide it from view or just not buy it at all. You have a greater chance of eating food that is good for you if you keep healthy food around you at all times.
Ask your friends if they will be your support system. Even though they can't lose the weight for you, they can offer motivation and assistance to you to help you reach your goal. By having someone you can depend on, you are less likely to quit when your goals seem hopeless. Look to your friends or family for moral support when you feel down. They will be able to get you through the tough times by offering you a supportive shoulder.
