It's difficult to stay focused on the reasons you're working to lose weight. You likely started your plan wholeheartedly and completely focused on your goals. As time progressed, however, you lost focus. How can you internalize the motivation needed to push on that you see in others? How are they achieving these great results and maintaining their fitness?
What you want to do in the beginning is decide your specific weight loss target. Do you want to fit back into your favorite outfit? Do you know how much weight you want to lose? Do you want to feel better about yourself, be a healthier person and have more strength overall?
Make sure to log your progress on a weekly basis. Create a journal and check your weight weekly. Use the journal to list the foods you eat everyday in a food log. When you write down everything you consume, you will be much more aware of what you are eating, causing you to make better choices.
You are going to eat some time during the day; it's a necessity. Don't make the mistake of getting overly hungry before you choose what to eat. Prepare ahead of time! Pack some snack or a nutritious lunch to take with you anywhere you go. Consider the financial savings you can realize by skipping trips to restaurants. Success is easy when you make plans and stick to them.
A weight loss plan that incorporates both diet and exercise is best. You have to take the time for physical activities that you actually want to do. If you just can't seem to find the time to workout, try incorporating exercise into more enjoyable activities. Is spending time with your buddies important? Take them on in a game of basketball. Are you a wild one? Dance classes may be the way to go. Are you more comfortable with nature? Hit those hiking trails!
You won't eat junk food if there isn't any in the house. Keep an abundance of healthy choices like fresh fruit and veggies on hand to help you control any cravings. Avoid temptation by making sure only healthy, nutritious foods enter your house.
Ask your friends if they will help you throughout your weight loss process. Although losing weight is your responsibility, having support from family and friends is helpful. When you do not have the motivation to keep going, you should call your support system and talk about it.
