Lasting weight loss can sometimes seem unattainable. Good intentions aren't always enough to overcome the frustration of those sore muscles from your first workouts. What can you do to make sure you're successful?
Choosing your fitness goal is step number one. Have you set a goal of how much weight you want to shed? Do you want to lose a lot of weight, or just wear your current clothes more comfortably? Is your goal to be in better shape or gain energy?
Keep a weekly record of your weight loss. If you keep a weight loss journal, you can look back and track your progress. Use this book to keep track of the food you eat. By jotting down your food intake on a daily basis, you are more likely to stick with the program because you are holding yourself responsible. The fact that you have to write it down may keep you from wanting it.
When you allow yourself to get very hungry, you will be far more likely to make poor choices. You may end up eating whatever is on hand rather than making a more healthful choice. Avoid being faced with poor choices unexpectedly by planning your meals and snacks for each day and packing them to take along wherever you go. Prepare lunch in advance rather than eating junk food on the go. You will save lots of money and get a better quality of food. The food you prepare for yourself will have far less fat, sodium and calories than anything you could buy at a restaurant or fast food eatery.
Usually, just eating well is not enough to produce great weight loss results. When you add an exercise regime to your weight loss plan, it will really help you to make progress. Staying with your workout regimen will be easier if you enjoy the exercises. Activities should focus on both making you feel healthy as well as involving you in vigorous exercise. Bring a friend to an interesting class or be alert for the chance to make a new friend.
Removing all of the junk food from your place is probably the best thing that you can do at this point. Having only good foods around like veggies and fruits will help reduce some of the temptation. Simply by removing junk foods from the kitchen and pantry, you'll make it easier to avoid being tempted by the foods that add inches to your waistline.
When you have people backing you up it will help you stay motivated on your weight loss journey. Look to your friends for encouragement, inspiration and moral support. Your friends can give you a much-needed lift when your are out of motivation. You will not want to let them down by slacking off. You would do the same for your friends.
