Lasting weight loss can sometimes seem unattainable. One of the hardest things to do is to get started. The next hardest thing to do is to do it again. What is the recipe for weight loss success?
First, you have to determine and create attainable goals for your weight loss. Is there a special event coming up that you want to look nice for? Is there a specific weight loss goal you'd like to reach? Do you want to lose weight to feel more energetic? Do you need to lose excess pounds for medical reasons? Your answers to these questions are important.
Chart your weight loss. Don't get on the scale more than one time a week. Don't weigh yourself too often, or you'll get discouraged with the less than impressive progress. Also make a diary of all of the foods you eat daily and an estimate of the calories you take in. Write about the things you drink and include snacks as well. When you have to write down your food and drink choices, it can go a long way toward discouraging you from making unwise choices.
Keep healthy snacks on hand in case you get hungry. If you don't do this, you might end up at a fast-food place without having a second thought. Determine your menus ahead of time, and take brown bag lunches each day. That way, you will save money too.
A big part of successful weight loss is combining healthy eating with consistent exercise. Exercising requires restructuring of your schedule; a couple of hours three days a week should be suitable for significant weight loss. If working out this often is difficult for you to do, then you must ensure you do exercises that you love. Ask your friends to schedule a weekly walk or two with you. Being outside for a nice hike can be a great way of getting exercise. Sign up for a class and learn a new high-energy style if you enjoy dancing.
You can avoid eating junk by not keeping it around. If the food isn't in your pantry then it won't show up on your hips. Stock your cupboards and fridge with nutritious foods that you want to eat. Green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, and granola are all healthy snacks. Do not buy any junk food that you might overindulge in. The harder it is for you to eat these foods, the better it is for your weight loss plan.
Have your friends and family keep tabs on your weight loss progress. They can support you when you need inspiration in reaching your weight loss goals. When you get together with friends you will feel more motivated.
