Losing weight and keeping it off can seem like an unattainable goal. We start with all the enthusiasm and motivation in the world, and then get discouraged when we feel the soreness from our first workout. What are the obstacles preventing you from losing weight?
To begin with, you should determine your weight loss goals. Wouldn't it feel amazing to fit into a smaller dress size, or at least be able to feel comfortable in your current clothes? Have you identified your weight loss goals? Is getting fit and having more energy critical to you?
Consider keeping a written record of your weight loss efforts. It's not hard; simply log your daily food consumption and how much weight you are losing. After you have written everything down, look over what you have eaten and plan accordingly.
It is inevitable that you will have to eat at some point during the day. Make sure you know what you are going to eat ahead of time. Be ready with your own options! Get into the habit of packing your lunch. You will save a ton of money by not eating at restaurants. Make sure you plan ahead and that you plan to stick to your plan.
Getting to your weight loss goal is not done solely with a good diet. The best way to see speedier results is to get regular exercise in addition to eating well. Sticking to activities that interest you will make it much easier for you to keep exercising. Keep an eye out for high-energy activities that you think you'd enjoy. Enroll in classes you find interesting and try to engage in friendly conversation while you do your workouts.
If all you have in the house is junk food, it should be no surprise that you reach for it first when you are hungry. This works the other way around, though: keeping your home filled with healthy foods means you will go for them first. Make sure your pantry has tons of healthy food options like fruits, vegetables, and nuts. If you do not have junk food in your cupboards you will be less likely to overinduldge. If you eliminate junk food from your home and replace it with healthy food, you will cease making bad choices.
Consider having a friend along with you on your journey, even though it is up to you in the end. Allowing yourself to receive support from others can give you the extra strength you need when you feel like quitting. Look to others when you need some help.
