There are times when you may feel as if your plan to lose weight is impossible to achieve. While you may be very dedicated in the beginning, sometimes people start to get frustrated after a short period of time. You may wonder how other people reach their weight loss goals. What do they do to achieve success?
Knowing what it is you want to achieve with your weight loss is a great place to start. Wouldn't it feel amazing to fit into a smaller dress size, or at least be able to feel comfortable in your current clothes? What are your weight loss goals? Is being healthy, strong, energized and confident essential to you?
The weight you lose weekly should be charted. Keep a log that charts your weekly weight loss progress. Maintain a food diary within your overall weight loss diary. Record what you eat each day, so you can stay accountable. The simple task of writing it down can prevent you from making poor choices in foods.
Letting yourself get to the point where you are unbearably hungry is a bad thing! Once you are hungry, you are at a disadvantage and it is harder to make good food choices. Decide what you will eat ahead of time and bring healthy snacks with you to consume when you are hungry. If it is possible, pack your lunch for each day. It only takes five minutes to get a healthy midday meal together and it can even be done the night before. By doing this, you will save yourself some money and you won't be tempted to make the wrong choice when it comes to what you eat.
The two staples of any weight loss plan are diet and exercise. Find an exercise that you enjoy enough to do several times a week. If you are having trouble exercising, try breaking it into smaller blocks or incorporate your exercise into the things you enjoy doing. Go for a walk or bike ride when you get together with your friends. Look into taking a dance class, if you like dancing. If you prefer to go on hikes, check out trails you haven't been to before as a change of pace.
Eliminate junk food from your home, your place of business, and any other place that you frequent on a regular basis. If it is not there, you can not be tempted to eat it. Make the places where you typically spend time healthy food zones. Be prepared for sudden snack attacks by having plenty of ready-to-eat foods on hand, such as carrot and celery sticks, fruit, seeds and other nutritious treats.
Inform others of your workout goals. They can act as your support system and provide you with advice, encouragement and inspiration when you need it most, helping you stay on the path to achieving your weight loss goals. When you get together with friends you will feel more motivated.
