Take note of how much weight you lose every week. Use a diary or log to track your weight loss progress each week. Make sure your food journal is kept in the same book. Writing down what you eat every time you consume food and drinks will help hold you accountable to how much you eat and when you eat it. The fact that you have to write it down may keep you from wanting it.

This is common, but often ignored, advice when trying to lose weight. Simply throw all of your junk food and unhealthy snacks away. You will not be able to go grab those unhealthy foods if they are not there. Put healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables and low-calorie alternatives in place where you used to have junk food. If you get rid of all of the unhealthy choices you will not be able to eat them.

While losing the weight is ultimately up to you, keeping friends around who can help and support you is a great way to maintain motivation, especially when you may be in danger of quitting your program.
