When they first begin a new weight-loss regimen, the majority of folks are inspired and hopeful. As time goes on, it can sometimes be discouraging if amazing results do not start showing up immediately. Why can some people maintain their weight after losing it? There must be some magic chemical that makes this possible! What is it?
Creating a weight loss plan is the first step on your journey. Wouldn't it feel amazing to fit into a smaller dress size, or at least be able to feel comfortable in your current clothes? Have you decided on the exact amount of weight that you would like to lose? Is feeling vital and energized every day an important goal for you?
Writing down your weight loss results can be a great motivator for losing weight. Develop a log where you write down every piece of food you eat. Keep a running tally on your daily food intake to maintain success in your caloric allotment. The journal can also be used to keep track of your weight week by week. Graphs help motivate because they give you a visual of what is happening to your body.
If you are hungry, you are not yourself which means having snacks available. If you don't do this, you might end up at a fast-food place without having a second thought. Determine your menus ahead of time, and take brown bag lunches each day. That way, you will save money too.
It is very important to eat healthy and exercise. You must exercise a minimum of three days each week, but more is even better! If you think this will be difficult to stick to, then choose activities you will have fun doing. Ask your friends to schedule a weekly walk or two with you. Being outside for a nice hike can be a great way of getting exercise. If you like to dance then go out dancing, but try a new form of dance such as salsa or samba classes.
Most everyone has heard about this method, yet people rarely do it. Remove any trace of fatty foods, sugary treats and high calorie snacks from your cupboards and fridge. You will not be able to just reach for junk food when you crave it if you do not store any in your house. Instead of junk food, fill your refrigerator with healthy food, such as fruits and vegetables. All the things that are bad for you should be discarded. You will not crave them so much when you don't see them.
Bring a friend when you workout. If we think no one is paying attention, it can be easy to make excuses and put off our exercising. If someone else is exercising alongside you, you'll be less likely to take a break when the workout starts to wear you down. You will always have someone to turn to when you feel discouraged and exhausted by the sheer effort of weight loss.
