Often, when people start their new weight loss program, they have a lot of drive to stick with it. Sometimes the long term goal just seems too elusive, and the tendency is to give up too soon. How is it that certain people can lose the weight and keep it off? How can I discover the magic needed to make this incredible progress possible? What is that secret?
Choosing your fitness goal is step number one. Exactly how much do you intend to lose? Is it your goal to slide into a new pair of jeans that are several sizes smaller, or just feel more svelte in the clothes you already wear? Ask yourself whether you want some extra energy, or just to feel like you are in better shape.
Keep records of your weight loss from week to week. Whether you eat something big or small, be sure to document it. When you keep a record of all the things you eat, you will feel more accountable for what you have consumed. You will be inspired to make healthier decisions on what you choose to consume.
Allowing yourself to go hungry is a recipe for weight loss sabotage! Self control can be non-existent, especially when you are hungry. Decide what you are going to eat in advance and keep snacks with you at all times. Try and bring a lunch from home when you can. By doing this you will end up saving money and eating a healthier overall diet.
A successful weight loss plan incorporates physical exercise and a nutritious diet. You need to find an exercise plan you enjoy, and do it three or more times per week. If you don't enjoy doing certain exercises, find some fun activity to do as a replacement. Go for a walk with your friends when you hang out. If you have an interest in dancing, take a dance class. If you like hiking, you can go explore several trails near you.
You want to get rid of jink food from any areas you spend a lot of time in, such as your home, your office, and your car. If you do not have the junk food around, you will not be able to easily indulge in it. Rather, take steps to make your workspace, household or anyplace you are likely to snack, a health food zone. Keep an abundant supply of healthy natural snacks, such as vegetables, nuts and fruit, handy and reachable for when you need to snack.
Get a friend to workout with. We can often make excuses if we only answer to ourselves and ignore our responsibility to stay healthy. When you work out with a friend, it is more likely you will keep going. A friend can provide motivational support, suggestions or tips to help you lose weight.
