When they first begin a new weight-loss regimen, the majority of folks are inspired and hopeful. But after a while, people give up because their dream seems too far away. Some people can lose weight and keep it off. How do they do this? How can I discover the magic needed to make this incredible progress possible? What is it?
The first step in any successful weight loss program is to have a realistic goal in mind. It does not matter what your desired end result is, whether it be one size or 50 pounds. Having a specific goal will increase your odds for success.
Weigh yourself weekly and chart your progress. Keep track of your weight so you can compare it weekly. Also use this diary to keep a record of your daily food intake. By jotting down your food intake on a daily basis, you are more likely to stick with the program because you are holding yourself responsible. When you know you'll have to write it down, you won't be as interested in having that snack.
Don't allow yourself to be hungry all the time. This will make you more likely to binge on unhealthy foods. Do not let this happen to you. Therefore, have your meals planned out in advance. Then, bring then with you when you go out. When you can't be home, pack a lunch. This is not only rewarding for your waistline, but your wallet will thank you as well.
The most effective weight loss plans combine healthy eating and exercise. Setting aside a fixed time each week to exercise regularly will improve your stamina and energy. If you do not like to exercise a lot, look for physical activities that you do like, and do them regularly. Get some buddies together for a game of basketball or sign up for ballroom dancing lessons and dance the pounds away!
You won't eat junk food if there isn't any in the house. Unhealthy eating habits are usually due to your environment. By keeping things such as fruits, veggies and granola bars stocked in your house, you will be more likely to choose these more healthy treats. It is a good idea to not keep tempting foods within easy reach in the home.
Appeal to your friends. Tell them you need their support in your efforts to lose weight. Having many supportive people around will motivate you to keep going when you feel like quitting. Make sure there are people that you can talk to when you're worn out or having a hard time. Your support system can be a huge help all the way through your weight loss journey.
